🎩 Three Hats, One Big Makeover: The Cylinder, Daisy Adders, and Cap Reworks
🗣️ FRIZZY: In this update, I‘m bringing you a makeover for three of our StarStable inspired hats: the Cylinder, Daisy Adders, and Cap. My goal was to overhaul the item‘s looks and set up a new overlay system that allows more custom designs for SSO clubs.
Here’s What’s New:
Cylinder Hat
The Cylinder Hat now comes with 3 overlays: Fabric, Fabric with Ribbon and Special.

🫦 New Upgraded Facial Features: Eyebrows, Eyeliner, Eyeshadow, and Lashes
In addition to our hat updates, we’ve made significant upgrades to the facial features in the character editor.
🗣️ FRIZZY: My beloved beta users wished for it, finally it‘s here: colorful makeup! The eyeshadow was my main objective. We already applied the eyeshadow items with a “multiply” layer effect before but that doesn‘t work for the colorful shades on darker skin tones. I figured out that with “soft light”, shades appeared to look brighter on dark skin tones but have a softer effect on light skin. So now, you can combine both layer effects and lots of colors no matter what skin tone you choose!
The eyebrows on the other hand now come with more alternative shapes and pretty much fill in everything that was missing before. Want e-girl brows? I got you. Need thin brows from the 2000‘s? No problem.
And then we have the new eyeliner and lashes. I added a complete set of rainbow colors to the eyeliners and more shapes you can combine with each other. The lashes didn't receive many new color options just yet but we have some new ones that each give the eyes of your character a very different expression. I can not stress enough how bad I want to see what you use all these for!
Here’s What’s New:
Eyebrows:
- Before, 4 shapes available in 8 colors
- Now, 9 shapes abailable in 12 colors
Eyeliner:
- Before, 9 shapes available in 4 colors
- Now, 15 shapes available in 14 colors
Eyeshadow:
- Before, 6 shapes in only 1 color
- Now, 7 shapes available in 9 colors
Lashes:
- Before, 7 shapes available in 2 colors
- Now, 12 shapes available in 3 colors

🔧 Technical Updates
For those curious about the behind-the-scenes work, here’s a look at the technical updates Felix has been working on. If you’re more interested in the creative updates, feel free to skip ahead to the next section.
Major Updates:
- Complete Rewrite of the Editor Logic: In the past few weeks, Felix has rewritten the editor’s logic from the start. This overhaul ensures fewer issues when new character files are added or removed, making the editor much more upgradeable for future expansions. We encountered some bugs following the rewrite, but they’ve all been fixed, so the editor is now running smoother than ever.
- Overhaul of the Startpage: We’re in the process of completely redesigning the startpage to provide more detailed information about what’s possible with the current features.
- Rework frizzygraphics.com:frizzygraphics.com is now its own standalone site with a custom-built Linktree page. This will later become a standalone page for Frizzy Graphics information like prices and art content. Before this update, the domain just redirected to frizzycharacters.com.
- Naming Wizard Tool: We’ve developed an internal website tool called the "Naming Wizard" to help Frizzy manage the complex process of renaming files for the editor. This tool simplifies the workflow, making it faster and easier to handle the increasing number of files as new features are developed (this art update alone had 996 files that changed in some way).
Other Updates:
- Discord Bot Enhancements: Our custom written Discord bot has been upgraded to notify us about new blog comments and provide helpful statistics on the time it took to generate character images. This helps us improve performance. These updates are in addition to the bot’s existing functionalities, which include:
- Logging errors when image creation fails in the Discord audit channel for debugging.
- Handling beta access to our website using custom Discord ranks.
- Preview Images Clean-Up: Better preview images in the editor for simpler orientation.
- Wallpapers Visual Grid: Phone and desktop wallpapers now use the same visual grid as our other designs.
- SEO Improvements: Added schemas for blog posts to help with Google search rankings.
- Randomizer Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug where previews would shift around in the randomizer. Also correct an issue where moon layers were being randomized incorrectly.
Thanks for reading! Be sure to check back in two weeks for our next Frizzy Fridays update, where we are going to reveal what is coming next for Frizzy Characters. It‘s gonna get hairy…!
Till then, keep dreaming up those character designs and get ready to bring them to life soon…
